How to lose weight simply by staying at home
Remember, just be smart about your choices. As a registered dietitian, I work with all kinds of people, from all walks of life. I understand that weight loss comes in different sizes and shapes. We want you to succeed, so my advice to you is to be you. Be kind to yourself and honor your body, body, body, body, body! When deciding on any of these activities, remember that no single one will make a difference. Each one adds up, but the more you do, the better off you will be.
Cook all your meals. You need to know how to cook to start eating healthy. You can even use this method of fast weight loss.
START SMALL WITH SOME KIND OF FOOD, ANYTHING IS EASY
You will feel your blood sugar coming back to normal so you can eat all the things you love.
EXERCISE!! I know we are all so tired, but you need to start moving. You need to walk, ride your bike, go to the gym or just get your heart pumping. Make a habit of moving your body as soon as you get up.
IF YOU LIKE FOOD, PLEASE THINK ABOUT CHEATING WITH YOUR MEALS
(If you are like me, and you have NO will power when you are eating healthy food) Here is a trick. Make the night before or the morning of, whatever day of the week you start, you eat something that will not help you lose weight. NO cheating. NO chips. NO cookies. You want to lose weight. You can even have your favorite food the night before, in the morning. Your body will love you for doing this and it will help you make changes in your diet. I know many people can’t believe I actually do this, but I promise it does work.
DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT BEING THAT MUCH FUN TO EAT
As I have told you, all you need to do is follow the rules you need to. This can be done in your own home, but if you want a little help (since it is so important) you can take a class. I have had a nutrition class, my daughter has had classes to help with her weight loss. If you have to take classes to learn, do it. The classes help and you will be spending time with other people who are working towards the same goals. It will help keep you motivated.
BE A HEALTHY MEATEER
If you like meat, eat it in small portions (or small meals) and only eat meat and veggies, if you don’t like vegetables eat them and enjoy them. Give yourself your treat. Your desert. Your cake. Your chips. No-one will die from eating a little of this or that. I promise. You don’t need to deprive yourself of any food. It is just giving your body a little love every once in a while. I promise.
HELP THE MOST COMMON SENSE, BODY ENTHUSIAST
Now, that sounds like a silly saying, but think about it. We all have this voice in our head that wants to eat what we want to eat. You probably even have this voice in your head when you are on the diet. The good news is that you are going to have to fight against this voice. The bad news is, you may have to do this over and over again. The good news is that after you have struggled a little bit, you will probably feel so good about yourself. I promise, your body will take this as a challenge and it will learn how to love you, and not love what you are depriving it of. You will even start to feel good about eating the things you love, and really enjoy eating healthy.
